I get about 1 inquiry about someone wanting to know what they can do to optimize their website. I’ll reply with one answer…are you ready? WordPress!
Then the next statement I hear is, “But Rachael I already spent a lot of money on this site are you really telling me I can’t use it?” Sorry folks, sadly but truly that static .html site really isn’t going to give you the results you deserve. Why? You may ask. Every time you make a blog post you are adding an additional page to your site. Google deems a valuable site 25 pages or more. So, while you may have stuffed your pages full of terms you “think Google likes” you really aren’t scoring major points. Your home, contact, and about us pages aren’t enough to pump your site full of valuable content or what I like to call the “pixie dust” of you keyword ranking tools.
On the other side of that is when you make your pages each page is specifically designated for the term you are trying to rank for, not 20 or 30 terms on one page which looks “extra special” in the eyes of Mr. Matt Cutts the Google SEO God.
Below is an example of Terry Thrower’s website. His “theme keyword” as I like to call it is “handyman az” We use it on the homepage, blog category, and also as a post, SEE! in 3 different pages all centered around that 1 phrase, He also has about 40 other niche phrases, but I just created this site for him last month, so give it some time.
