As a Web Design Phoenix Local I have been experimenting lately with WordPress seeing if I can get the same results or if not better by using a static page to rank as high as a blog post. After playing the waiting game I finally got the answer. It IS possible to rank in Google without making a blog post. It is still set up just like a blog post, but a page in WordPress is set up the exact same way a blog post is. So, you are essentially doing the same exact thing except, it is static and you are never changing it.
Here are my results. I created a WordPress website. I used one very low competition keyphrase and used different variations of it. Believe it or not it is used only twice on the actual page, and several times in the meta title and meta description. A tweak I made was making the keyphrase in the beginning of the title and meta description. Instead of somewhere in the middle. This boost the rankings several spots.
So it is possible to rank without posting to your blog by carefully researching the competition and searches for that term. This term is searched about 200 times a day!
It is even ranking above ARMLS which is the officials Arizona MLS website! How is that for SEO!
So there are several different ways to utilize WordPress and SEO as a Web Design Phoenix Local.

Rachael,
I like the idea of putting the keyword phrase first, I usually put them in the title of my blogs, but not the first words. I also put them in the back of the meta tag, but I will put them in first now. Is it necessary to link the keyword phrases in your blog as well? I don’t see many other blogs doing that, besides, it reveals to everyone what keyword phrases you’re using. For some lazy people that are looking for blog ideas, won’t they just use yours? When they are not linked I think it makes it more difficult to recognize the keyword phrases.
Hi Darolyn-
For the lazy people if they are lazy and copy a post, they might be lazy and not change a link, so you might be fortunate to get a link lol.
Great question. Sprinkling the “anchor text” which is a word linked in a post, shows more added value to a post, and also that deep linking within the site, and also it ads a link using that keyphrase makes it look more important. You are however adding anchor text in “tags” as seen above ex:tagged as:
So it would be nice if you had both , but at least having one is better than none. Most other blogs aren’t doing it because I don’t think they know!
As a webmaster , I’m truely glad to see that someone brought up this topic.
Quite a few people don’t grasp the concept of what all is required in this industry, and I think also we are many times underrated
or taken for granted. Never the less I’m glad to see that you may feel the same way I do , thanks so much for your blog!
I couldn’t agree more! Thanks for the comment Jim!
